The Forest of Hands and Teeth.

The Forest of Hands and Teeth

Carrie Ryan

I finished this book a few days ago after it being recommended to me by my good friend @feiticeira. Carrie Ryan has created a world that I have nightmares about (ok, so I’m obsessed with zombies and Dawn of the Dead is one of my very favorite movies), in fact while I finished this book I still keep thinking about the story, the world and the characters. Mary lives in the distant future where there are more zombies or as The Sisterhood calls them; Unconsecrated over run the world. Mary lives in the “last” village of humans. Where The Sisterhood is law and The Guardians patrol and make sure The Unconsecrated keep out of the last surviving village. Mary, our very curious yet frustrating protagonist begins to unravel secrets kept by The Sisterhood.

The journey Mary goes through is interesting, do not get me wrong, but what kept me hooked on this book is the world itself. There are little clues throughout the book that just kept me wondering about how it all started, how was it that the world found itself overrun by the dead. In the sequel Dead-Tossed Waves we get more answers but even more questions. I definitely recommend this book to zombie lovers. It was slow at some parts and frustrating at others, but it is definitely worth the read!
